An informal, inclusive progressive social group. Drinking Liberally gives like-minded, left-leaning individuals a place to talk politics. We are a chapter of Drinking Liberally, which is a part of living liberally (a national organization). My husband and I started the Encinitas chapter a bit after we moved here. We have been having meetings since 2007. Most of our current members found us through the Living Liberally website http://livingliberally.org/ but since I attend meetups around SD …

This group is for dedicated readers and knowledge seekers who want to learn more about the world we live in. Knowledge is, after all, power, and having facts and figures to back up arguments is never a bad thing. Ideally this group will meet once a month too discuss a book of the month. We can read both fiction and non-fiction, and the literature we read need not be political. The overall aim of the group will be to enrich ourselves with knowledge and get together to share this knowledge.
Can't imagine dragging your ass out of bed Monday through Friday without Stephanie Miller and the Mooks getting your day off to a hilarious start? Then this Meet-Up is for you! Those of us who appreciate Stephanie's special Breakfast Blend of political humor, fart jokes, sassy interviews with politicians, movie stars, comedians, and columnists, and all-around good fun are a special breed. Wouldn't you love to meet other San Diegans who regularly snort coffee out of their noses due to some hilar …
Americans have more religious freedom than any people in world history. We can choose what to believe; what to teach our children; how, where and when to worship; which causes to give money to; or even whether we want to get involved with religion at all. We have the separation of church and state to thank for this broadly based freedom. The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution says: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion; or prohibiting the free exercise thereof …
Non-partisan, politically engaged thinkers and doers supporting and seeking new ways to make government more responsive to the people and not the corporations.
There are no upcoming Meetups.
Political rants, policy puzzles, punditry, campaigns... Care to talk about what's going on? Organized by a few progressives and maybe-not-so-liberal Democrats from the Rancho Santa Fe, Fairbanks Ranch, Solana Beach, Del Mar and Carmel Valley area. Join us if you've enjoyed an RSF Democratic Club meeting, or just want to talk, or haven't heard enough about politics.

Secular Humanist Families of North County We are liberal secular humanists who would like to find a community of like-minded families interested in building strong friendships. We simply want to build a community of families based on principles free from religion and supernaturalism. Our definition of 'family' is open-minded and inclusive: we welcome single parents, same-sex pare …
This is a business and social networking group for Conservatives who want to meet and mingle with other Enlightened Ones. (If they can call themselves "Progressives," why can't we call ourselves the "Enlightened Ones.") Wouldn't it be nice to have a pleasant conversation in a social setting where you don't have to mince your words because those around you are truly open-minded (unlike Liberals who claim to be open-minded, but really aren't)? If you're looking to meet new friends or make business …
